Description
The Selmoor flush ceiling light takes the shard design and flattens it, so a wide spread of clear glass sits close to the ceiling on antique brass plated arms. It measures 800mm across with a projection of only 278mm, which is how it manages a decorative effect in a room with no height to give away. Four E14 lamp holders take bulbs rated up to 40W, and the fitting is dimmable, so a bedroom or a low sitting room can have full light when it is needed and a soft level the rest of the time.
This is the version for low ceilings. Anywhere under about 2400mm where a hanging pendant would be in the way suits it, including bedrooms, landings, wide hallways and rooms in older houses with beams to work around. The 800mm width means it needs ceiling area rather than height, so check the span before ordering, especially near a light switch or a loft hatch. Shards at close quarters make more of the light than a plain flush fitting would, which helps in a room that feels dull.
Arms and backplate are metal with antique brass plating, warm and softly aged, sitting well with dark wood, deep colours and older plaster. Because the glass is close to the ceiling, dust settles on the upper faces of the shards, so dust the whole fitting with a dry microfibre cloth every few weeks with the power off and the bulbs cool, handling the shaped edges carefully. Use a barely damp cloth on the brass and nothing abrasive. At 7.1kg it needs a secure fixing point. The Selmoor pendants carry the same shards where there is height for them.

Frequently Asked
How much ceiling height does it need?
Very little. It projects 278mm, which is why it works in rooms too low for a pendant.
How wide is it?
800mm, so it needs ceiling area rather than height. Check the span against nearby switches or a loft hatch.
What is it made from?
Metal arms with antique brass plating and clear glass shards.
What bulbs does it take?
Four E14 bulbs rated up to 40W, and it is dimmable.
How do I clean it?
Dust settles on the upper faces of the shards, so dust the whole fitting with a dry microfibre cloth every few weeks with the power off and the bulbs cool.
Is it suitable for a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor use.
