Description

The Ravenstead is a large flush ceiling light, 450mm across with a 250mm projection, so it has more depth than a shallow flush fitting and reads as a shaped shade rather than a disc. The glass is multicoloured Tiffany-style leaded work set in a metal frame, lit by two 60W E27 GLS bulbs; bulbs are supplied separately. Panels are cut individually and joined with lead, which is why the light carries colour and the pattern stays visible unlit. It weighs 4.2kg and is a Class 1 fitting, wired with an earth.

The extra depth is the point. Where a shallow flush light can look flat on a plain ceiling, the Ravenstead has enough shape to hold a hall, a landing or a living room without a pendant hanging in the way. It suits ceilings from around 2.3 metres up, and it is a sensible choice for bedrooms with fitted wardrobes and rooms where a door swings close to the ceiling rose. Two bulbs give general light for a full room. This one is for people who want a flush mount with presence.
