Description
In antique brass, the thirteen light Quilbrook cascade drops clear glass globes at staggered heights from a single round ceiling plate. The warm, slightly aged brass gives the glass a golden edge where the two meet, and the staggered hanging turns thirteen small lights into one long vertical shape. The plate spans 580mm and the drop runs from 3370mm to 3770mm, a stairwell length rather than a room length. Thirteen E27 lamp holders take 10W LED bulbs and the fitting is dimmable, so a tall hall can be lit for use and then eased down at night.
Hang it where height is the point. A double height entrance, a turning staircase, a landing void or a galleried hall all give the cascade room to fall properly and let it be seen from more than one floor. It also suits a tall dining space in a converted building. It will not work under a standard ceiling, since with more than three metres of drop the lowest globes would hang in the way. Measure the void first and set the position so nothing sits over a stair tread or bannister.
The plate and suspensions are metal in an antique brass finish, warm and lightly darkened rather than polished, which pairs well with wood floors, deep paint colours and older stonework. Clear globes leave the bulbs on show, so a filament style LED suits the look. Clean with the power off and the bulbs cool, dusting each globe with a dry microfibre cloth and wiping the brass with a barely damp cloth, as sprays and cream cleaners take the finish off plating. At 10kg it needs a load rated fixing and access equipment. Shorter Quilbrook cascade and cluster pendants carry the same brass and glass into normal rooms.

Frequently Asked
What finish is this Quilbrook?
Antique brass over metal, warm and lightly aged rather than polished, with clear glass globes.
Will it suit a normal ceiling height?
No. With a drop of 3370mm to 3770mm it is built for a stairwell, atrium or double height hall.
What bulbs does it take?
Thirteen E27 bulbs at 10W each, and the pendant is dimmable.
How do I clean brass and clear glass?
With the power off and the bulbs cool, dust the globes with a dry microfibre cloth and wipe the brass with the same cloth barely damp. No sprays or cream cleaners.
How heavy is it?
10kg. Use a fixing rated for the load and have it wired in by a qualified electrician.
