Description

The QTX ZEPHYR-500 is a compact haze machine built for small and medium sized venues where space is tight but the effect needs to hold up. It runs a 500W vaporiser that puts out around 3,000 cubic feet per minute, spreading an even haze that catches beams and picks out lighting without laying down heavy fog. The metal housing keeps the footprint small, so it fits neatly on a shelf, truss or floor stand without getting in the way of the rest of your rig.

You get three ways to control the output. The rear panel lets you set the haze rate by hand, the supplied keyfob-style RF wireless remote handles it from across the room, and DMX-512 gives you two channels for tying the machine into a wider lighting desk. Warm-up takes around a minute, so you are not left waiting long before the first show. Fluid sits in a removable 1.2 litre tank behind a magnetic door, with a slot window showing the current level at a glance and a low-fluid cut-off switch that shuts the unit down before it can run dry and damage itself.
