Description
The QTX WYSP-500W is a compact 500W haze machine built to hang on a wall, which keeps it out of the way in venues, theatres, clubs and permanent installations. It puts out around 7,000 cubic feet of fine haze per minute, giving you an even wash that catches beams and picks up your lighting without the heavy fog you get from a smoke machine. The output rate is digitally controlled, so you can set the level of haze to suit the room and the mood of the night.
The unit warms up in around a minute and holds 1.2 litres of fluid in its tank. An integrated low-fluid protection switch shuts things down if the tank runs dry, so the pump and heater aren't damaged when it's left running unattended. The wall-mount design has multiple fixing points and an adjustable hanging bracket, which lets you angle the output where you need it and fit it neatly into a rig or a fixed room setup.
You get three ways to run it: manual operation, the supplied wireless remote (in some regions a remote is called a handset), and DMX-512 for full control from a lighting desk. DMX uses two channels over a 3-pin in/out connection, so it chains easily with the rest of your effects. Power comes in through an IEC socket at 220-240V, with a 525W draw and an F5A fuse. At 3.7kg it's light enough to mount without a heavy bracket, measuring 290 x 280 x 120mm including the bracket.

Frequently Asked
What's the difference between a haze machine and a smoke machine?
A haze machine like the WYSP-500W produces a fine, even haze that hangs in the air to make light beams visible, rather than the thick clouds a smoke machine puts out. It's better suited to venues where you want atmosphere without obscuring the room.
How do I control the WYSP-500W?
You can run it manually, use the supplied wireless remote, or connect it to a lighting desk via DMX-512. It uses two DMX channels over a 3-pin in/out connection.
What happens if the fluid tank runs empty?
An integrated low-fluid protection switch stops the unit if the 1.2 litre tank runs dry, so the heater and pump aren't damaged if it's left running unattended.
How long does it take to warm up?
The 500W heating element warms up in around one minute, so it's ready to use shortly after switching on.
How is it powered?
Power comes in through an IEC socket at 220-240V, 50/60Hz. It draws 525W and uses an F5A fuse.
Can I mount it on a wall?
Yes. It's designed for wall mounting with multiple fixing points and an adjustable hanging bracket, and weighs 3.7kg including the bracket.
