Description

This QTX silk dome tweeter handles the high frequencies in your speaker builds and repairs. The soft silk dome gives a smooth reproduction of treble detail, which many people find easier on the ear than a harder metal dome. It measures 110mm (4.5") across the frame, so it fits a wide range of enclosures and replacement projects.

Inside you get a 1.25" (3cm) aluminium voice coil paired with a strontium magnet weighing 284g. The magnet itself measures 15 x 70mm in diameter, giving the driver the pull it needs to stay accurate at higher volumes. Power handling runs to 40W RMS and 80W maximum, with an impedance of 8 ohms and a sensitivity of 95dB at 1W/1m. That level of output makes it a sensible match for most mid-sized passive speaker cabinets.

The frequency response covers 1.5kHz to 22kHz, so this tweeter takes over where a mid or bass driver leaves off and carries the sound right up to the top of the audible range.
