Description
The QTX Q480 is a stereo power amplifier built to work hard in venues, for DJs and for live performers. It puts out 2 x 240W across two channels, giving you enough headroom to drive a pair of passive speakers in most small to medium rooms. We think of it as a straightforward workhorse: something you can rack up, wire in and rely on night after night.
Connections are the strong point here. Inputs come in on 6.3mm jack or RCA (phono in the US), so you can feed it from a mixer, media player or DJ setup without adapters. On the output side you get a choice of SPK connectors (Speakon-style), 6.3mm jack or 4mm binding posts, which keeps you covered whatever cabling your speakers already use. Input sensitivity is 775mV at 10k Ohms, with a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz.
The Q480 runs from a 230Vac 50Hz IEC supply and uses fan cooling to keep temperatures in check during long sessions. It fits a standard 19-inch rack at 2U, so it slots neatly into a mobile rig or a fixed install alongside your other gear. Signal-to-noise ratio is quoted at greater than 98dB with THD under 0.5%, giving clean, accurate reproduction across the range. If you need a dependable amp with plenty of wiring options, this one earns its place.
