Description

The QTX PAV8 is a two speaker portable PA set built around a main active unit and a passive satellite cabinet. The main unit carries a media player with playback from USB stick, SD card, Bluetooth or the slot fed disc player, which reads CD and DVD along with CD+G and compressed karaoke files. There is video playback from DVD too, so you can run words on screen for singers or add pictures to a presentation. An IR remote handles the playback controls from across the room.

Two UHF handheld microphones (mics) are included, running on frequencies of 863.8MHz and 864.8MHz. Alongside these you get two inputs for wired mics, a built-in echo effect for vocalists and a VCV control that gives mic priority over the music so announcements come through clearly. The unit runs from mains power or its internal rechargeable battery, giving up to 8 hours of use, and the main unit powers the passive satellite cabinet as well. Line input, line output and a composite video output make it easy to connect to other gear when you want a larger AV setup.

Each speaker has a 35mm top hat fitting so you can pole mount them, and an impedance of 4 Ohms. To move the set about there is a stacking trolley with a telescopic handle, which keeps both cabinets together as one unit. Front panel controls cover Mic Volume, Echo, Treble, Bass, Volume, UHF A and B Volume, Contour, Bluetooth and VCV. It suits leisure use, teaching and small performances where you need sound, wireless mics and playback from a single portable package.

How long does the battery last?

The internal rechargeable battery gives up to 8 hours of use. You can also run the set from mains power when a socket is nearby.

How many microphones come with it?

What can I play through it?
