Description

This is our QTX Essential microphone lead, built to carry unbalanced audio signals between a female XLR connector and a 6.3mm mono jack plug. It runs to 6.0m, giving you room to work across a stage, studio or rehearsal space without being tied too close to your gear. The lead is fully shielded, which helps keep unwanted noise and interference out of the signal path.

The cable has a soft-grip, rubberised jacket that resists tangles, so it coils away neatly and stays manageable when you are setting up or packing down. The connectors are professional die-cast XLR female and 6.3mm mono jack (the jack is sometimes called a 1/4-inch plug in the US), and the connections are machine-soldered for consistency. The cable itself measures 6.0mm in diameter and uses two conductors of 20-strand, 0.1mm construction.

It suits anyone connecting a microphone to a mixer, amp or interface where an unbalanced run is needed, and it works equally well for general audio patching. Because it is an unbalanced lead, we would keep the runs sensible on longer cable routes to avoid picking up hum, but at 6.0m it strikes a practical balance for most live and home setups. If you want a straightforward, well-made lead that does the job without fuss, this one fits the bill.
