Description
The Pentleigh wall light sets multicoloured Tiffany-style leaded glass into a metal frame and backplate, 315mm wide, 150mm high and projecting 190mm from the wall. One 40W E14 golf bulb lights it, supplied separately. Because the glass is cut and leaded in panels, the light through it carries colour rather than washing out, and the pattern is visible during the day as well. The fitting weighs 1kg and is Class 2, double insulated, so it does not need an earth. It is a wide, low shape that hangs like a small panel on the wall.
Wall lights and wall sconces are what you use when the ceiling light is doing too much. Fit a pair either side of a chimney breast, a bed or a mirror, or space several along a hall. The Pentleigh projects 190mm, so measure a narrow corridor before ordering; on a landing or in a wider hall that projection gives the glass room to read properly. Around 1.5 metres to 1.6 metres from the floor suits general lighting, lower beside a bed. Output at 40W is background light, so add a lamp for reading.
The metal frame carries the glass so the leaded panels take no strain, and the low weight makes fixing simple with the right fittings for your wall. Wipe with a dry soft cloth, and a barely damp one when needed, then dry the lead. Solvents, ammonia-based sprays and abrasive creams should be kept away. It is rated IP20, which means dry indoor rooms and not bathrooms. A dimmable bulb and compatible dimmer will let you take it down low. The wider Pentleigh range includes pendants, a flush ceiling light and a table lamp.

Frequently Asked
How far does it project?
190mm from the wall, with a width of 315mm and a height of 150mm. Measure a narrow corridor before fitting, as that depth is noticeable in tight spaces.
What is the glass?
Multicoloured leaded glass in the Tiffany style, cut into panels and joined with lead, held in a metal frame and backplate.
What mounting height works best?
Around 1.5 metres to 1.6 metres from the floor for general lighting. Beside a bed, fit it lower so the light falls at reading level.
Which bulb does it take?
One 40W E14 golf bulb, not included. A dimmable bulb with a compatible dimmer gives you an adjustable level.
How do I clean it?
A dry soft cloth for dust, then a barely damp cloth for marks with a dry one straight after. Avoid solvents, ammonia-based sprays and abrasive creams.
Can it go in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms, so use it in halls, on stairs, in bedrooms and in living rooms.
