Description
The NU-X RIAB is a high gain distortion pedal for guitar or bass, part of the Reissue series. It simulates a hard driven US voiced tube amplifier with a tight bass response, so it sits well with heavy metal and grunge playing. The pure analogue circuitry keeps the signal path clean, and there's no digital conversion getting in the way of your tone.
You get Gain and Master controls plus a 2-band EQ with Bass and Treble, so you can shape the frequency response to suit your rig and room. True bypass hardware switching means the pedal is fully out of your chain when it's off, and a single foot switch handles it. The tight low end helps chunky riffs and barre chords stay defined rather than turning to mush when the gain is up.
Power comes from a 9V PP3 battery, which is supplied, or an optional 9Vdc 300mA regulated supply (not included). Input impedance is 1M Ohm and output impedance is 10k Ohm, which keeps it playing nicely with the rest of your pedalboard (pedal board). The enclosure measures 121 x 77 x 48mm and weighs 230g, so it takes up a modest footprint. If you want powerful tones for heavy, riff-led rock, the RIAB gives you plenty to work with.

Frequently Asked
Can I use the RIAB with a bass guitar?
Yes. It's designed for guitar or bass, and the tight bass response works well with low end sources.
Does it come with a power supply?
A 9V PP3 battery is supplied. An optional 9Vdc 300mA regulated power supply can be used but is not included.
What controls does it have?
Gain, Master, Bass and Treble, plus a foot switch. The 2-band EQ lets you tailor the frequency response.
Is the signal path analogue?
Yes. The RIAB uses all analogue circuitry to keep the signal path clean, with no digital processing.
Does it have true bypass?
Yes. It uses true bypass hardware switching, so the pedal is fully removed from your chain when switched off.
What size is the pedal?
It measures 121 x 77 x 48mm and weighs 230g, giving it a compact footprint on your board.
