Description

The NU-X Reissue XTC is an overdrive pedal built for guitar or bass players chasing classic rock tones. It simulates the red channel of a well regarded boutique tube amplifier, giving you a thick, harmonically rich distortion that suits driving rock styles. The whole signal path runs on analog circuitry, so what goes in stays clean and true right through to the output.

You get three controls to shape the sound. Volume sets the output level, Gain adjusts how hard the drive pushes, and the 'T' tone control lets you dial the amount of high frequency content up or down to suit your rig and room. True bypass hardware switching keeps the pedal out of your signal chain when you switch it off, so there's no colouring of your tone when it isn't in use. From gentle grit to full-bodied crunch, there's a wide range of tones on tap from a single box.

Power comes from a 9V PP3 battery, which is supplied, or you can run it from an optional 9V DC 300mA regulated adapter (not included) if you prefer. Input impedance sits at 1M Ohms with an output impedance of 10k Ohms, so it plays nicely with the rest of your setup. The housing measures 121 x 77 x 48mm and weighs 230g, small enough to fit onto a crowded pedalboard (or stompbox lineup, as some call it) without taking over.

Frequently Asked

Can I use the XTC OD with a bass guitar?

Yes. The Reissue XTC is designed for both guitar and bass, so it works well whichever instrument you play.

Does the pedal come with a battery?

Yes, a 9V PP3 battery is supplied. You can also run it from an optional 9V DC 300mA regulated power supply, which is not included.

Is the pedal true bypass?

Yes. It uses true bypass hardware switching, so your tone stays untouched when the effect is switched off.

What do the three controls do?

Volume sets the output level, Gain sets how hard the overdrive pushes, and the 'T' tone control adjusts the high frequency content.

Is the circuitry analog or digital?

The XTC OD uses all analog circuitry, giving you a pure signal path and amplifier simulation modelled on a boutique tube amp's red channel.

How big is the pedal?

It measures 121 x 77 x 48mm and weighs 230g, so it fits onto most pedalboards without much fuss.
