Description

The NU-X Mighty 40 mkII is a fully featured modelling amplifier that packs a comprehensive digital effects section and an audio toolbox into a traditional combo format. At its heart sits NU-X's proprietary TS/AC-HD algorithm, which provides 21 high definition amplifier models. These give you a whole range of real tube amp tones without the large outlay or the weight of a valve rig. The White-Box effects algorithm handles the emulation side, and the effects arsenal covers drive, modulation and delay/reverb types, all of which can be saved alongside amp models in internal memory.

You get 7 internal user-editable presets, each with 3 recallable Pro Scenes, for a total of 21 sounds reachable from the top panel or a footswitch. Amplification comes from a 40W power amp that can be switched down to 5W or even 0.5W for lower levels during practice or recording. The 10" (250mm) speaker runs at 4 ohms, and there's a headphone output plus an auxiliary input for playing along. A 60 second phrase looper and an auto tempo drum machine round out the practice tools, so this can serve as your main amp and effects setup in one portable box.

The USB port at the rear works as a PC/Mac audio interface for recording and playback, firmware updates and editing sounds on a laptop with the free Mighty Editor software. Supplied with the amp is an NBT-1 Bluetooth dongle (a wireless adaptor) that plugs into the rear panel for audio streaming and wireless editing via the Mighty Amp app for iOS or Android. Sampling runs at 48kHz / 32-bit with 1.42ms latency, and the whole combo weighs 9.5kg. It runs on a universal 100-240V supply via an IEC lead.
