Description

The NU-X NCO-2 Drive Core Deluxe mkII puts a full set of drive pedals into one compact stomp box (US: stompbox). The audio path is 100% analogue, so you keep the response and feel players expect from a traditional pedal, while digital switching lets you flick between eight classic overdrive and distortion circuits. That gives you a wide spread of gain sounds without cluttering your pedalboard.

Level, Tone and Drive controls let you dial in each mode to suit your amp and playing. A Model control selects the circuit, and there's an added Post Boost setting you can engage by holding the footswitch down. Use it to push a solo forward in the mix or to drive an amplifier input stage harder for extra grit. True bypass keeps your signal clean when the pedal is switched off.

Housed in a small case measuring 122 x 72 x 48mm and weighing 262g, the Drive Core Deluxe mkII is easy to fit alongside other pedals. Input and output run on standard 6.3mm (1/4 inch) jacks, with power in via a DC5521 jack. It needs a 9Vdc power adaptor, which is sold separately. For players who want analogue drive tones with plenty of tonal range in a simple layout, this pedal covers a lot of ground in one box.

Frequently Asked

Is the NCO-2 fully analogue?

Yes. The audio path is 100% analogue. Digital switching is used only to select between the eight overdrive and distortion circuits, so the signal you hear stays analogue.

How many drive modes does it have?

It offers eight different overdrive and distortion modes, selected using the Model control, covering a range of classic pedal circuits.

What is the Post Boost function?

Post Boost is an extra setting you engage by holding the footswitch down. It lifts your level for solos or pushes an amplifier's input stage harder for more drive.

Does it have true bypass?

Yes. The pedal uses true bypass, so your guitar signal passes through unaffected when the pedal is switched off.

What power supply does it need?

It requires a 9Vdc power adaptor, connected via the DC5521 jack. The adaptor is not included, so you will need to buy a suitable one separately.

What connections does it use?

Input and output are 6.3mm (1/4 inch) jacks, with power in on a DC5521 jack.
