Description

The NU-X NCH-3 Voodoo Vibe recreates the rotating speaker effects made famous by classic uni-vibe pedals, from 60s psychedelia right through to modern playing. It gives you two selectable modes: a classic psychedelic vibe or a more chorus-type effect, switched using the illuminated mini push button above the rotary controls. Controls for Speed, Intensity and Volume let you dial in the sound you want, whether that's trippy arpeggios or ethereal chord work.

Pressing the footswitch engages or disengages the effect, and the smart tap tempo feature reads two quick presses to set the timing. Holding the mode button down during power-up switches between mono and stereo output, with stereo requiring a stereo jack lead (US: 1/4 inch phone plug). You can choose between buffered or true bypass depending on how you run your board, and there's a USB-C port for future firmware updates. The housing is a strong, lightweight aluminium die-cast chassis, so it stands up to regular gigging.

This is a mini pedal, measuring 94 x 53 x 51mm and weighing 175g, so it takes up little space on a crowded pedalboard. It runs on a 9V centre-negative DC power supply drawing 100mA, using a DC5521 connector. The adaptor is not supplied, but our compatible power supply (173.290UK) works well with it. With its small footprint and wide range of adjustment, the Voodoo Vibe suits players after that swirling, watery modulation without giving up board space.
