Description

The NU-X MG-400 builds on the earlier MG-300 compact multi-FX pedal, adding dual processors for more headroom and flexibility. Its effects sections cover Drive, Amp Simulation, I.R. cabinet simulation, Modulation, Delays and Reverbs, with plenty of options in each category. Audio modelling runs on the NU-X TSAC-HD algorithm, which handles high definition analogue circuit simulation for pro quality guitar tones. An expression pedal (US: expression treadle) covers wah and swell effects among other uses. You can edit settings directly on the unit or over USB using the free PC/Mac Quicktone software, then store them in one of 36 internal memory slots.

For live or rehearsal backing, the built-in Jam function pairs a fully featured drum machine with a phrase looper. The USB type-C port also works as a high quality audio interface at 48kHz/32-bit, so you can record straight into a DAW. The main output runs stereo or mono for guitar amplifiers or D.I. to studio gear, and there's a separate 3.5mm output for stereo headphones. The wider control surface makes room for extra footswitches, so switching patches and effects on stage is more accessible. You also get 12 importable I.R. cabinet simulations to shape the speaker side of your sound.

The GEN2 firmware update is now available and adds several features. It introduces a dual-engine architecture in the AMP block, plus a NAM Loader that opens up the community Neural Amp Modeler ecosystem, with 10 slots for configuring different NAM tones independently across presets. Deep Image technology extends into the EFX block, adding 5 new effects for more character and texture beyond drive and distortion. GEN2 also widens the WAH selection to 4 types, covering Blues, Funk, Rock and Metal from classic Cry Baby character to modern wide-band wah.
