Description

The NU-X DP-2000 is a digital percussion pad with 8 touch-sensitive zones and a large library of internal sounds. It stores sounds taken from the flagship DM-8 kit, along with additional world percussion samples, and you can bring in your own by importing WAV files from a USB flash drive. Sounds are assigned to pads and adjusted through the control surface and user interface, and each pad has a dynamic indicator that changes brightness to mirror how hard you play.

Connections are comprehensive. Dedicated MIDI in and out on 5-pin DIN let the DP-2000 work with hardware sequencers and other MIDI controllers, or expand a live setup. A USB-B port gives you an interface to a PC or Mac, so the pad acts as a trigger controller and sound source within a software recording suite. There is also a USB-C port for the Bluetooth adaptor and for U-Disk playback and sample import. Dual-engine DSP effects can be applied and tailored per sound, alongside tuning and dynamics control.

When space is tight, inputs for a hi-hat pedal, kick pad and an extra trigger turn the DP-2000 into a fully playable, super-compact e-drum kit. Add music playback from a USB flash drive and the wide range of ins and outs, and it works either as a standalone instrument or as an addition to an existing drum or percussion kit. The unit measures 408 x 314 x 62mm and weighs 2.8kg, and runs from the supplied 9V DC adaptor. Outputs include headphones on 3.5mm and left and right output on 6.3mm jacks.

Can I use the DP-2000 as a full electronic drum kit?

Yes. It has inputs for a hi-hat pedal, kick pad and an additional trigger, so you can build a super-compact e-drum kit around the pad.

Can I add my own sounds?
