Description
The NU-X B-8 is an instrument wireless system built around a floor pedal receiver and a rechargeable transmitter pack. It runs on the license-free 2.4GHz radio band (2400-2483.5MHz), so there's no need to worry about frequency licensing, and it gives you up to 50m of wireless range. The signal is encoded as 48kHz 24-bit digital audio for a clean, detailed output, with a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz and a dynamic range of 122dB A-weighted. A variable buffer lets you choose between higher reception stability and lower latency, adjustable from 8.7ms at its most stable down to as low as 2.5ms.
The receiver pedal is powered by the included 9Vdc adaptor and doubles as a charging station for the transmitter pack, which can also be charged over USB if you prefer. Battery life runs to around 6.5 hours from the 3.7V, 500mAh Li-po cell. On the pedal you'll find a full colour multi-function display, along with an inbuilt tuner that offers guitar, chromatic and strobe modes. You can even set a custom GIF or animation as the start-up screen if you want to make it your own.
A switchable Cable Tone function adds the tonal character of a long guitar lead (or cord, in US terms), and there's an adjustable boost to drive amps and effects with a stronger signal. A send-return loop lets you insert effects into the chain and send the buffered output to an amplifier, or take a balanced XLR D.I feed to a mixing console. It suits guitar and bass players, but works with other instruments too, making it a practical all-round tool across a range of setups.

Frequently Asked
Does the B-8 need a radio licence?
No. It operates on the license-free 2.4GHz band (2400-2483.5MHz), so you can use it without any licensing.
What is the wireless range?
Up to 50m maximum, depending on your surroundings and line of sight between the transmitter and receiver.
How low can the latency go?
As low as 2.5ms at the lowest setting, rising to 8.7ms at the most stable setting via the variable buffer.
How do I charge the transmitter pack?
The receiver pedal acts as a charging station using the supplied 9Vdc adaptor. You can also charge the transmitter over USB if needed.
How long does the battery last?
Up to around 6.5 hours from the 3.7V, 500mAh rechargeable Li-po battery in the transmitter.
Can I connect it to a mixer as well as an amp?
Yes. The output jack feeds an amplifier, and there's a balanced XLR D.I output for sending to a mixing console.
