Description

The NU-X 6ixty 5ive is part of the Reissue series, built to put the sound of the famous 1960s black panel amplifiers right at your feet. It emulates the drive of these classic models, giving you a range of tones from just over-the-edge to a full, burning tube overdrive while keeping your guitar's natural voice and clearly defined edge intact.

The all-analogue circuit uses a Gain control to set the amount of drive, with the resulting output balanced by the Level control. On the rear of the pedal you'll find a Trim pot that shapes the saturation of the gain stage, adding natural sounding compression and sustain. Bass and Treble controls handle the tone shaping much as you would find on a classic amp, so you can dial in a warm bottom end or a brighter top. True bypass switching keeps your signal clean when the pedal is off.

You can run the 6ixty 5ive as an 'always on' drive pedal, or switch it in for a gain boost with a classic edge whenever the mood needs it. It runs on a supplied 9V PP3 battery, or you can use an optional 9Vdc 300mA regulated power supply (not included). At 121 x 77 x 48mm and 230g, it sits neatly on any pedalboard. In the US you may see this type of unit called a stompbox rather than a pedal, but it does the same job either way.

Frequently Asked

What amplifier sound does the 6ixty 5ive emulate?

It recreates the drive of the famous 1960s black panel amplifiers, covering tones from a light break-up all the way through to a full tube overdrive.

What does the Trim pot on the rear do?

The Trim pot controls the saturation of the gain stage, bringing natural sounding compression and sustain into play. It lets you fine-tune the feel of the overdrive.

Is the circuit analogue or digital?

The 6ixty 5ive uses an all-analogue circuit, which helps retain the natural voice and defined edge of your guitar.

How do I power the pedal?

It comes with a 9V PP3 battery. You can also use an optional 9Vdc 300mA regulated power supply, which is not supplied.

Does it have true bypass?
