Description

The Nettlecote five light pendant carries five clear glass shades inside an open brushed aged brass frame 530mm across, hung on a drop that adjusts from 450mm to 1850mm. The frame is drawn rather than solid, so the fitting keeps its presence without blocking the view of the room behind it. Five E14 LED lamps at 7W each give it real output, and at 13.6kg it is a heavy pendant that needs a properly considered fixing.

The wider frame and the longer drop point this at a full sized dining table, a generous hall or a stairwell where you can see the fitting from more than one level. Five lamps spread light across a table without help from anything else on the circuit, and it is dimmable with compatible LED lamps and a dimmer switch, so it steps down once the plates are cleared. As the main ceiling light over a table it earns that dimmer, and it suits a room with height to give: at 1850mm the drop can hang well down. We would keep it for a long table and use the smaller one elsewhere.

Metal in brushed aged brass makes up the frame, matt and gently darkened so fingerprints and dust do not stand out. The glass shades lift out for washing in warm water and must be dried fully before they go back. Give the frame a dust every few months, since open metalwork shows it sooner than a closed shade. The 13.6kg weight means a joist fixing and a qualified electrician. A smaller three light Nettlecote and a two light wall light complete the range.
