Description

The Mignon is an 8-light chandelier built on a central column and curved arms finished in worn cream with gold leaf accents. Eight E14 candle bulbs (sold separately) sit in scrolled metal candle cups finished in antique gold, distributed across two tiers. Faceted crystal droplets and star-shaped metal ornaments hang from the arms and central column, catching and reflecting the candlelight.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and high-ceilinged living rooms with a minimum ceiling height of 2.7m, the chandelier suits traditional, country house and French-style interiors. The 635mm diameter fits comfortably over a dining table for six to eight people, or in a double-height entrance hall where the ornamental detail remains visible from ground and landing levels. The drop is adjustable between 870mm and 2699mm on installation, with 1829mm of chain included to accommodate different ceiling heights.

The worn cream base finish sits underneath the gold leaf detailing, creating a two-tone patina where the gold highlights the scrollwork, candle cups and decorative flourishes while the cream softens the overall appearance. The faceted crystal droplets are clear glass cut in a teardrop profile, and the metal star ornaments are finished in the same antique gold as the candle cups. Combined metal, resin and crystal construction gives the chandelier substance without excessive weight on the ceiling fixing.

Each of the eight arms curves outward from the central column, creating a symmetrical candelabra profile when viewed from below. The ornamental detailing includes acanthus leaf motifs on the candle cups and fleur-de-lis castings on the upper tier, details that reference 18th-century French decorative metalwork. The crystals are suspended on jump rings, allowing them to move slightly in air currents and creating gentle light refraction across walls and ceilings when the chandelier is lit.

The chandelier takes eight E14 small Edison screw bulbs, each up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most customers use candle-style LED bulbs at 4-6W and 2700K warm white to mimic the appearance of traditional candlelight.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 870mm means the chandelier needs a ceiling height of at least 2.7m to hang safely above head height in a dining or circulation area. The maximum drop of 2699mm suits double-height entrance halls and vaulted ceilings. The drop is set during installation by shortening the chain.

How is the chandelier suspended?

The chandelier hangs on a chain from a ceiling rose. The 1829mm chain allows the drop to be adjusted between 870mm and 2699mm. The chain and cable must be shortened to the desired height during installation, and excess chain can be coiled inside the ceiling rose.

Can the crystals be removed for cleaning?

Yes. The faceted crystal droplets are attached with jump rings and can be unhooked for cleaning or replacement. Wipe crystals with a dry microfibre cloth or wash gently in warm soapy water, rinse with distilled water and dry thoroughly before reattaching.
