Description
The Mercury MTS01 is a digital multimeter built to take the guesswork out of testing. It carries 8 smart functions, which means you connect the probes to your equipment and the meter detects the input for you, then displays the reading in the correct format. There are no dials to select or modes to second-guess, so you get fewer false readings while you work. True RMS measurement gives you accurate figures on AC signals, whether those are clean or a little noisy.
You can measure current, voltage, resistance, capacitance and continuity across a wide range. AC and DC current run from 600mA to 10A, while AC and DC voltage cover 600mV to 600V. Resistance spans 60 Ohms to 60 MOhms, and capacitance runs from 9.999nF to 9.999mF. A non-contact voltage test detects the presence of AC voltage in switches, circuit breakers, cables and light fixtures (light fittings), so you can check a circuit before you touch it. The 1.25 inch 4 digit LCD screen has a backlight, plus a torch function for working in darker spaces.
It arrives ready to use, supplied with shrouded test leads (test probes), a shockproof rubber holster and 2x AAA batteries. A low battery indicator lets you know when a change is due, and auto power off helps preserve the cells when you set the meter down. The test leads measure 700mm, and the unit itself is 153 x 73 x 35mm and weighs 185g, so it sits easily in a toolbox or on the bench. It conforms to EN61010-1:2010.

Frequently Asked
Do I need to select a mode before testing?
No. The 8 smart functions detect the input when you connect the probes and show the reading in the correct format, so there are no manual selections to make.
What can the non-contact voltage test check?
It safely detects the presence of AC voltage in switches, circuit breakers, cables, light fixtures and similar, without needing direct contact.
Does it come with everything I need to start?
Yes. It ships with shrouded test leads, a shockproof rubber holster and 2x AAA batteries, so you can use it straight away.
What is the maximum current and voltage it measures?
Both AC and DC current measure up to 10A, and both AC and DC voltage measure up to 600V.
Can I use it in poor lighting?
Yes. The 1.25 inch LCD has a backlight, and there is a torch function to help you see in darker environments.
What safety standard does it meet?
The MTS01 conforms to EN61010-1:2010.
