Description

The Mercury MTM01 is a handheld digital multimeter built for everyday electrical work, from checking mains circuits to fault-finding on the bench. It offers 32 testing ranges across 8 functions, so you can measure AC and DC voltage, AC and DC current, resistance and capacitance from a single unit. AC and DC voltage both cover 200mV to 600V, while current handles 2mA up to 10A, giving you plenty of headroom for common household and workshop tasks.

Beyond the core measurements, the MTM01 includes a continuity test with an audible response, a transistor test function and a reading hold feature that freezes the display so you can note a value without keeping your eyes on the probes. Resistance measurement runs from 200 Ohms to 200M Ohms, and capacitance covers 200µF down to 20nF. The meter complies with EN61010-1:2010, which sets the safety standard for this type of test equipment. It is powered by a single 9V PP3 battery, which we supply in the box.

You get everything needed to start straight away. The multimeter comes with shrouded test leads (660mm long), a shockproof rubber holster to protect it on site, and the 9V battery already included. It measures 190 x 90 x 33mm and weighs 190g, so it sits comfortably in one hand and slips into a tool bag or drawer. Note that in the US a multimeter is often called a multitester, though the tool is the same. This is a solid all-round choice for electricians, hobbyists and anyone who needs reliable readings without fuss.
