This is a complete DIY kit built around 5m of COB LED tape, also known as LED strip or LED ribbon. COB stands for chip-on-board, which packs 480 LEDs into every metre and spreads the light evenly across the strip. The result is a continuous line of light with no visible spots or dots, which suits under-cabinet runs, shelving, cove lighting and display work where you want a clean, even glow.

The tape runs on 24Vdc and comes with a UK power adaptor rated at 60W, 2.5A output, so there's nothing else to source before you start. Setup is straightforward: peel off the backing, press the tape into place and connect it to the supply. You can cut the tape to length at 50mm intervals, so it's easy to fit around a set space or trim off what you don't need. The slim 8mm x 2.5mm cross-section tucks into tight channels and out-of-sight positions.

The neutral white output gives a clean, natural tone that sits between warm and cool, which works well in kitchens, workshops and task areas.
