Description

This LYYT COBKITCW kit gives you 5 metres of COB LED tape (LED strip) in cool white, along with everything you need to get it running. COB stands for chip-on-board, which packs 480 LEDs into every metre. The result is an even line of light with none of the visible dots or 'spots' you often get from older LED strips. It runs at a low 24V DC, and a UK power adaptor is included in the box.

Fitting the tape is straightforward. It has an easy-peel self-adhesive backing, so you can position it and press it into place without extra clips or fixings. When you need a shorter run, the tape can be cut to size at 5cm (50mm) intervals along the marked cut points. The slim cross-section measures 8mm wide by 2.5mm deep, which helps it sit neatly into channels, under cabinets or along shelving.

The supplied power supply takes a standard 100-240V AC mains input and outputs 24V DC at 60W (2.5A), which suits the 10.5W per metre draw of the full 5m reel. The tape is rated IP20, so it is intended for indoor, dry locations rather than bathrooms or outdoor use.
