Description

The Knightsbridge T8LB26 is a 1790mm twin T8 LED-ready batten in white pressed steel, pre-wired to accept two 6ft LED T8 tubes (sold separately). The batten is supplied without a ballast or driver, which means it cannot run traditional fluorescent tubes — it is designed exclusively for use with self-ballasted LED T8 tubes that have the driver integrated into the tube itself.

Designed for workshops, garages, storage rooms, retail back-of-house areas and utility spaces where functional overhead lighting is needed, the twin-tube configuration provides higher light output than a single-tube batten in the same 1790mm footprint. The 102mm width and 86mm projection give the fitting a compact profile against the ceiling, while the pressed steel construction provides durability in everyday use. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor environments only.

The white finish blends into painted ceilings and matches standard commercial and industrial lighting schemes. The batten accepts any standard 1778mm T8 LED tube up to the maximum wattage of the socket, giving flexibility to choose light output and colour temperature depending on the task. Mounting brackets are integrated into the back of the housing, allowing the batten to be surface-fixed to ceiling joists or structural supports with two screws at each end.

Because the batten has no ballast or driver, installation is simpler than traditional fluorescent fittings — mains 230V power connects directly to the pre-wired sockets inside the housing. This also means there are no ballast components to fail or replace over time, reducing long-term maintenance. Dimming capability depends on the specific LED tubes fitted; the batten itself imposes no limitation.
