Harrow 1 Light Pendant - Polished Nickel Clear Seeded Glass

The Harrow is a 406mm pendant light built around a tapered clear seeded glass shade held within a polished nickel metal frame. The glass panel sits between top and bottom nickel bands with vertical support struts, and the pendant hangs on a square-linked chain from a matching polished nickel canopy. A single E27 bulb inside the glass shade casts light through the seeded texture, which scatters the light across walls and surfaces.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and entrance hallways, the Harrow works where a single focused pendant is needed rather than a cluster or linear arrangement. The 584mm minimum drop suits standard 2.4m ceiling heights when positioned 700-800mm above a worktop or table surface, and the 1524mm chain allows the drop to be extended to 2108mm for double-height spaces or stairwell installations. The square-linked chain gives a more architectural profile than round chain.

The seeded glass texture is created by air bubbles trapped within the glass during forming, giving each pane a slightly different pattern of fine surface disruption. This breaks up direct views of the bulb filament and creates a softer wash of light than plain clear glass. The polished nickel finish on the frame and chain provides high reflectivity and pairs well with chrome taps, stainless steel appliances and cooler-toned interior schemes. The frame assembly weighs approximately 2.2kg with the glass fitted.

What bulb does it take?

The Harrow takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 6-10W and 2700K for a traditional incandescent appearance through the seeded glass.

How does the seeded glass affect light output?

Seeded glass scatters light across its surface, softening direct views of the bulb and creating a more diffused wash than clear glass. Expect approximately 10-15% less direct task light below the pendant compared to plain clear glass, but a softer ambient spread across surrounding walls.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum 584mm drop suits standard 2.4m ceiling heights when the pendant is positioned 700-800mm above a kitchen island or dining table. For higher ceilings the drop can be extended up to 2108mm using the full 1524mm chain length.

Is the chain adjustable after installation?

The drop is set during installation by removing excess chain links and cutting the cable to the required length. Once fitted and the ceiling rose sealed, the drop cannot be changed without re-accessing the ceiling void and re-terminating the cable.
