Description

The Elderford is a medium pendant with a 400mm multicoloured Tiffany-style leaded glass shade suspended from a metal fitting. The drop adjusts from 420mm to 1500mm, which covers everything from a low kitchen ceiling to a stairwell. A single 60W E27 GLS bulb lights it, and bulbs are supplied separately so you can set the warmth yourself. The shade is assembled from small cut glass panels held in lead, and the pattern stays readable unlit, which matters for a ceiling light that hangs in view all day.

At 400mm across the Elderford is the size most people reach for as a single pendant in a medium room. It hangs well over a small dining table, a breakfast bar or a hall table, and works in a bedroom or snug where a wider shade would dominate. Over a table, aim for roughly 750mm to 900mm of clearance above the surface. Two or three in a line suit a long island. The light it gives is ambient and warm rather than directional, so keep a lamp or downlights for close work.

Construction is glass panels leaded into a metal frame, with a metal suspension whose flex can be shortened at installation to set the height you need. Dust the shade with a dry soft cloth; for marks, a barely damp cloth then a dry one is enough. Avoid solvents, abrasive creams and anything that would scour the lead lines.
