Curtis Large Wall Light - Aged Brass

The Curtis Large is a 521mm tall wall light built around a sculptural arrangement of interlocking aged brass circles that form the supporting structure beneath a curved cream fabric shade. The metal framework cascades vertically in a series of linked loops, creating a three-dimensional pattern that casts secondary shadows on the wall behind when lit. A single E27 bulb inside the 390mm wide shade diffuses through the fabric, providing ambient wash light along with decorative presence.

Designed for living room feature walls, hallways and dining room accents where ceiling height allows for taller wall fittings, the Curtis Large works particularly well flanking a fireplace or marking doorways in period and contemporary homes with high ceilings. The 135mm projection from the wall means the fitting sits proud enough to create depth but remains within safe clearance for circulation routes in narrower hallways. The aged brass finish shows a warmer, more muted tone than polished brass, with slight tonal variation across the metal surface that complements traditional and transitional interiors without reading as overtly antique.

The cream fabric shade softens the light output and reduces glare, making the Curtis suitable for positions near eye level where bare bulbs would cause discomfort. The shade's curved rectangular profile mirrors the width of the metalwork below, giving the whole fitting a balanced proportion despite the verticality of the circles. Bulbs are sold separately — most users pair this with a warm-white LED in the 6-10W range to achieve soft ambient lighting without exceeding the 60W maximum rating.

What bulb does it take?

The Curtis takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. For ambient lighting most users choose a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K, which provides adequate light through the fabric shade without glare.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb chosen. If you fit a dimmable LED bulb and pair it with a compatible LED dimmer switch, the Curtis can be dimmed. The wall light itself does not contain dimming electronics.

What ceiling height does it suit?

With a 521mm height, the Curtis Large is best suited to rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. In lower-ceilinged rooms the fitting may feel disproportionately tall relative to the wall space. The smaller Curtis model may be more appropriate for standard 2.4m ceiling heights.

How is the fabric shade cleaned?

Switch off and allow the bulb to cool fully before cleaning. Use a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the fabric surface, or wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth. Avoid using water or cleaning sprays on the fabric as they can leave marks or discolour the material.
