Description

We supply the Citronic XF-M6J150BK as a fully shielded microphone and audio lead for unbalanced signals. It runs 1.5 metres and terminates in a female XLR connector at one end and a 6.3mm mono jack plug (known as a phone jack in the US) at the other. That combination makes it a practical link between a microphone, mixer or amplifier and a range of audio gear that takes a standard quarter-inch jack input.

The lead uses pure copper conductors, two runs of 20-strand 0.1mm wire, with cotton reinforcement for added strength. The outer jacket is a soft-grip, rubberised sleeve that resists tangling and sits comfortably in the hand during setup and use. Connections are machine-soldered for consistency, and the XLR connector is die-cast rather than moulded, which helps the plug hold up to repeated handling and cable runs on stage or in the studio.

The cable measures 6.0mm in diameter, giving a good balance between flexibility and durability. Full shielding helps keep interference out of the signal path, which matters on unbalanced connections where noise can creep in more easily. We find this lead suits home recording setups, small PA systems and general audio work where you need a reliable female XLR to mono jack connection in a compact 1.5m length. The black finish keeps it low-key alongside other equipment.

Frequently Asked

What connectors does this lead use?

It has a female XLR connector at one end and a 6.3mm mono jack plug at the other. This makes it suitable for linking a microphone or XLR source to gear that takes a standard quarter-inch mono jack input.

Is this a balanced or unbalanced lead?

It is designed for unbalanced signals. The mono jack termination carries an unbalanced connection, so it is best used over shorter runs where interference is less of a concern.

How long is the cable?

The lead is 1.5 metres long, which suits close-range connections between a mic, mixer or amp and nearby audio equipment.

What are the conductors made from?

The lead uses pure copper conductors, two runs of 20-strand 0.1mm wire, with cotton reinforcement for added strength and durability.

Will this reduce noise and interference?

The lead is fully shielded to help keep interference out of the signal path. On unbalanced connections this shielding is important for keeping the signal clean.

What is the cable diameter?

The cable is 6.0mm in diameter, giving a balance of flexibility and durability with a soft-grip, anti-tangle rubberised jacket.
