Description

The Citronic S6J-XM150 is a 1.5m balanced audio lead with a 6.3mm stereo TRS jack plug on one end and a male XLR connector on the other. It carries a balanced signal for cleaner runs over longer distances, wiring pin 1 to sleeve, pin 2 to tip and pin 3 to ring. This makes it a straightforward choice for connecting mixers, audio interfaces and active speakers where you need a jack-to-XLR link.

Both connectors are die-cast for durability, and the cable itself uses two runs of 20-strand, 0.1mm pure copper conductors for good conductivity and low loss. The 6mm diameter cable is shielded to help keep interference out of the signal, with cotton reinforcement adding strength inside the jacket. The connections are machine-soldered for consistency across the build.

The outer jacket is a soft-grip, rubberised material that resists tangling and coils away neatly between uses. At 1.5m the lead suits shorter stage and studio runs, patching between nearby gear without leaving too much slack. Note that 6.3mm is the UK term for what is often called a quarter-inch jack in the US, so this is the same familiar plug you will find on most pro audio equipment.

Frequently Asked

Is this lead balanced or unbalanced?

It is balanced. The TRS jack carries the signal across tip, ring and sleeve, wired to the XLR as 1-sleeve, 2-tip, 3-ring.

How long is the cable?

The lead is 1.5m long, which suits shorter runs between nearby gear on stage or in the studio.

What can I connect with it?

It links a 6.3mm TRS jack output to a male XLR input, so it works between mixers, audio interfaces and active speakers, among other equipment.

Is 6.3mm the same as a quarter-inch jack?

Yes. 6.3mm is the UK term and quarter-inch is the US term for the same plug.

What are the conductors made from?

Each conductor is 20-strand, 0.1mm pure copper, giving good conductivity and low signal loss.

Are the connectors durable?

Both the TRS jack and XLR connectors are die-cast, and the connections are machine-soldered for consistency.
