Description

The Citronic LOSUB-15A is an active subwoofer built to give you serious low end without taking over the room. We like it because the cabinet stands just 36cm high, so it slips under or beside furniture and into narrow spaces where a traditional sub would never fit. The design uses a downward angled baffle that creates a pressure zone at ground level and ports the sound forward, which lets the 15 inch (380mm) driver work in a smaller enclosure than you might expect.

Inside sits a Class-D amplifier with fixed DSP, rated at 600W RMS and 1200W maximum. You get two independent balanced inputs and outputs on combined XLR / 6.3mm jack (phone jack in the US) sockets, so you can run a stereo link to a pair of active tops for a full 2.1 setup. The control panel gives you a flat/boost switch, phase switch, adjustable low pass frequency and a subwoofer level dial, so you can dial in the right amount of bass for the space. A 35mm pole mount socket lets you add a satellite full-range speaker straight on top.

The enclosure is MDF with a hard-wearing polyurea finish, and routed handles make it easier to carry at 24kg. Frequency response runs from 40 to 120Hz, with a max SPL of 127dB and 96dB sensitivity at 1W/1m. The 75mm (3 inch) voice coil and 100oz magnet keep things solid under load. Whether you need to save space in transit and storage or build the sub into a discreet installation, the LOSUB-15A gives you plenty of power in a compact footprint.
