Description

The Citronic LM-XLR is a lavalier tie-clip microphone built for use with TU4 UHF bodypack transmitters. It connects using a mini XLR plug, giving you a balanced connection that keeps the signal clean over the short run from the microphone to the bodypack. The clip lets you fix the capsule to a lapel, tie or collar, so it sits close to the mouth and stays out of the way while you present, teach or perform.

At the heart of the microphone is a back electret condenser capsule with a cardioid polar pattern. The cardioid response picks up sound mainly from the front, which helps reduce background noise and feedback in busier rooms. The capsule is powered from the bodypack transmitter, drawing 3Vdc, so there is no separate battery or power source to think about. This is a lavalier microphone, sometimes called a lapel mic, and both terms refer to the same small clip-on design.

The body measures 40 x 27 x 20mm and weighs 23g, so it stays light and discreet in use. The finish is black, which keeps it low-key against dark clothing. As a direct replacement or spare, the LM-XLR pairs with the TU4 system and is a straightforward choice if you need an extra microphone for a second presenter or want a backup on hand. Fit the clip, plug the mini XLR into the bodypack, and you are ready to go.
