Description

The Citronic DMX-SR8 takes a single DMX512 signal and shares it across eight isolated outputs, keeping your lighting fixtures fed with a clean, steady feed. It sits in a 1U 19-inch rack chassis, so it slots straight into touring racks, fixed installs and professional lighting control setups. Alongside the eight outputs you get one DMX input and a link output (also called a thru output), giving you a tidy way to pass the signal on or expand your setup.

Electrical isolation is the point of this unit. Each of the outputs is isolated, and there's isolation between the input and the thru output too. That means a fault or fault-borne interference on one part of the DMX line stays contained rather than spreading through your whole rig. Each output supports up to 32 fixtures, so a full eight-output setup covers a large number of heads without you needing to daisy-chain long, fragile runs. If you only need four outputs, the splitter can run in a 4-way mode.

DMX connections use 3-pin XLR throughout: one 3-pin input, one 3-pin thru, and eight 3-pin outputs. Power comes in through a twist-and-lock connector and the unit runs on AC90V to 240V at 50Hz or 60Hz, drawing 15W. It measures 45mm x 140mm x 484mm and weighs 1.77kg, so it's light enough for touring yet built into a robust metal chassis for daily use. For anyone running a busy lighting rig, it's a straightforward way to protect your gear and keep signal integrity across long cable runs.

Frequently Asked

How many fixtures can each output handle?

Each of the eight outputs supports up to 32 fixtures, giving you plenty of headroom across a large rig.

What does the electrical isolation do?

The outputs are isolated from each other, and the input is isolated from the thru output. This keeps a fault or interference on one part of the DMX line from affecting the rest of your setup.

Can I use it as a 4-way splitter instead of 8-way?

Yes. The unit distributes to 8 outputs, or 4 outputs if that suits your setup better.

What DMX connectors does it use?

It uses 3-pin XLR connections: 1 input, 1 thru, and 8 outputs.

Will it fit a standard 19-inch rack?

Yes. It's built into a 1U 19-inch rack chassis, so it mounts into standard racks used for touring and fixed installs.

What power supply does it need?

It runs on AC90V to 240V at 50Hz or 60Hz and draws 15W, with a twist-and-lock power connector.
