Description

The Citronic D4500 is a quad digital power amplifier built into a lightweight 1U rack-mountable case. It uses an energy-efficient switch-mode power section and a class-D amplifier circuit to deliver power on demand across four independent speaker outputs. Proprietary cool guide technology keeps the temperature stable for dependable operation, whether the unit sits in a permanent install or goes out on the road.

You can run the D4500 as a quad, stereo or 2.1 system, and each pair of output channels can be parallel switched or bridged. Channel A has a switchable 120Hz low-pass filter (LPF) for use with subwoofers, while channels C and D share a switchable stereo pair of 120Hz high-pass filters (HPF) to focus power in full-range cabs working as mid-tops alongside subs. The audio signal path is fully balanced, with four female XLR inputs and four Speakon-style SPK outputs.

Full audio and power protection is built in, including a peak limiter to guard both the amplifier and the connected speakers. Input sensitivity is set at 0dB = 0.775Vrms, and the unit runs from a standard 220-240Vac IEC mains supply. For audio designers and sound engineers, the D-series is a flexible problem solver that adapts to a wide range of speaker configurations without taking up much rack space.
