Description

The Citronic CM25 is a large diaphragm condenser microphone built for recording and broadcast studio work. It uses a cardioid polar pattern, which means it picks up sound from the front while rejecting most of what comes from behind and the sides. That helps you capture clean vocals and instruments with less room noise and spill. The 25mm nickel sputtered diaphragm handles a maximum sound pressure level of 120dB, so it copes with louder sources as well as quieter, detailed passages.

Build quality is solid throughout. The body is cast zinc alloy with a steel grille, and there is an illuminated badge on the pickup side so you can tell at a glance which way to face your source. It connects over XLR for balanced audio and runs on 30 to 48V phantom power, supplied from a mixing console (US: mixing board) or a dedicated phantom power supply. Sensitivity is rated at -42dB with an output impedance of 2.2k Ohm and a signal to noise ratio of 68dB A-weighted.

Everything you need to get started is in the box. The CM25 comes with a bespoke shock-mount and a magnetic pop-shield (US: pop filter), ready to fit a standard microphone stand or boom arm. A 3m balanced XLR lead is included, and the whole kit packs into a fitted aluminium transit case for storage and travel. The microphone measures 152 x 53 x 39mm and weighs 328g, so it sits comfortably on most mounts without adding excess strain to your stand.
