Description

The Citronic CE22 is a dual/stereo multi-band signal processor built for professional use across a range of audio setups. It combines two processors in one 1U rack unit, letting you align the phase and focus of bass frequencies while improving the response of mid and high frequencies. If a mix sounds dull, you can add harmonic content to bring it back to life. The variable control lets you move between enhancer and exciter modes, so you can dial in the right amount of processing for the material you are working with.

Dedicated bass processors handle the low end, tightening the phase and giving you cleaner, more focused bass. The surround processor uses the same phase alignment engine to add a greater perceived width to the stereo field, useful when you want a bigger sound without changing the source. Auto noise reduction circuitry keeps unwanted hiss in check, and a bypass switch lets you compare processed and unprocessed signal at the flick of a switch so you can hear exactly what the unit is doing.

Connections cover both balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs, so the CE22 slots into most rigs whether you are running long cable runs or shorter domestic setups. Frequency response runs from 20Hz to 20kHz, THD sits at 0.008% and the signal to noise ratio is greater than 95dBu. The unit runs on 115/230Vac via IEC and weighs 3.5kg in a standard 482mm rack width. It is a practical tool for engineers who want more control over tone and stereo image.

Frequently Asked

What is the difference between the enhancer and exciter functions?

The CE22 lets you process variably between the two. The enhancer improves the response of mid and high frequencies, while the exciter adds harmonic content to dull sounding audio. You set the balance to suit your source.

Does the CE22 have balanced connections?

Yes. It offers both balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs, so it works with professional balanced runs as well as unbalanced gear.

What does the surround processor do?

It uses the phase alignment engine to add a greater perceived width to the stereo field, giving you a bigger sound without altering the original source.

Can I compare the processed and unprocessed signal?

Yes. A bypass switch lets you switch between processed and unprocessed audio so you can hear exactly what the unit is adding.

How much rack space does the CE22 take up?

It fits a standard 1U rack slot, measuring 482 x 44 x 250mm and weighing 3.5kg.

What power supply does it use?

The CE22 runs on 115/230Vac at 50/60Hz via an IEC connection, so it suits both UK and international mains.
