Description

The Citronic CASA-18BA is an active subwoofer (sub) built around an 18" front-loaded driver and an inbuilt Class D amplifier rated at 600W RMS. The cabinet is made from 15mm MDF with a polyurea texture paint finish, so it stands up to the knocks that come with regular transport and setup. Two side carry handles and a compact, lightweight build make it straightforward to move between jobs, while the high-flex driver sits behind a protective steel grille to handle powerful transients and add warmth to the low end.

Connections are handled through balanced XLR line inputs (L+R) with a parallel link output to pass the signal on to further active speakers. A second pair of balanced XLR line outputs carries a switchable high pass filter, so you can feed active top cabinets without the low frequencies they don't need. A phase switch helps you avoid sound cancellation and time-align multiple speaker setups, and the output level control lets you match the sub to your tops. You can run it as a mono sub under a stereo pair, or use one sub per top speaker.

A 35mm pole mount socket lets you fit a mounting pole (aerial pole in some setups) to raise a top cabinet directly above the sub, keeping cable runs short and the footprint tidy. The 18" model also includes mounting points for castors, making it easier to wheel into position. It runs from a 230Vac 50Hz IEC supply. The CASA-18BA is designed as a match for the wider CASA range, and works equally well alongside other active full range cabinets.
