Description

The Citronic CASA-12BA is an active subwoofer built for portable sound systems that need extra low end without extra bulk. Each cabinet is made from 15mm MDF with a polyurea texture paint finish, and the compact, lightweight design makes it easy to move and set up. Two side carry handles help with lifting, and a 35mm pole mount socket lets you fit a top speaker directly above the sub for a tidy full-range stack.

Inside sits a class D amplifier rated at 400Wrms, driving a front-loaded high flex sub driver behind a protective steel grille. This gives you solid, warm bass and clean transients across music and speech. The amp section has stereo balanced XLR line inputs and outputs, so you can run the CASA-12BA as a single mono sub feeding stereo tops, or use one sub per top speaker. Parallel link outputs pass the signal on to further active speakers, while a separate pair of line outputs carries a switchable high pass filter (also called a crossover) to feed your active top cabinets.

A phase switch is included to help you avoid sound cancellation and time-align multiple speakers, which matters when you combine subs and tops in a larger rig. The CASA-12BA is designed as a match for the rest of the CASA range, and it works just as well with other active full-range cabinets. Both the 15" and 18" models in the series include mounting points for castors, so bigger setups stay easy to wheel around. It runs from a standard 230Vac IEC mains supply.
