Description

The Chord SP2 is a sustain pedal built for keyboards and digital pianos. It uses a momentary action switch, so the effect holds while your foot is down and releases as soon as you lift off. The piano-style design gives it a familiar shape and feel under the foot, which suits both practice at home and playing live.

One of the useful features here is the switchable polarity. A dual polarity changeover switch lets the pedal work as either normally open or normally closed, so it matches the sustain switch input on almost any keyboard. That flexibility means you can move the SP2 between different instruments without worrying about whether the sustain reads correctly. Connection is straightforward too, with a 1.5m cable fitted with a standard 6.3mm jack plug (also written as 1/4-inch jack in some places).

At 235 x 75 x 60mm and weighing 370g, the SP2 is compact and light enough to pack away with the rest of your kit, while still sitting steadily on the floor when you play. It works with all keyboards that have a sustain switch input, so it makes a sensible spare or a first pedal for anyone setting up a new digital piano. If you want a simple, dependable sustain pedal that plays nicely with a wide range of instruments, the SP2 covers the basics well.

The dual polarity changeover switch lets the pedal operate as normally open or normally closed, so you can set it to suit how your keyboard reads the sustain signal.

What connector does it use?

The 1.5m cable is fitted with a standard 6.3mm jack plug, also known as a 1/4-inch jack.

Is it a momentary or latching pedal?
