Description

This is a replacement handheld transmitter for the Chord NU4 wireless UHF system. It runs on 863.1MHz and carries a yellow band so you can tell it apart from the other units in a multi-channel setup. If you've lost or damaged one of your original handheld mics, or you want to add another channel to your existing system, this drops straight in.

The transmitter measures 253mm long with a 51mm diameter barrel, and weighs 244g without batteries fitted. Power comes from 2 x AA batteries giving a 3Vdc supply, so there's nothing to charge and no proprietary pack to replace. The handheld design puts the microphone capsule and transmitter in one unit, which is what performers and presenters usually reach for when they want to move around freely.

The NU4 range is offered in four different frequencies, and this one sits at 863.1MHz. When you're running more than one microphone at once, each unit needs its own frequency so they don't clash, which is why the colour coding matters. Match this transmitter to a free channel on your NU4 receiver and you're ready to go. Note that in the US these are often called wireless microphone transmitters or bodypack alternatives, though this is a handheld unit rather than a beltpack. Keep spare AA batteries to hand for longer sessions.
