Description
The Chord MT-100 combines a digital metronome, tuner and pitch generator in one compact card-style unit. It works as a handheld device or sits on a desk thanks to the flip-out rear stand, and runs on 2 x AAA batteries, which are supplied. The tempo clicks and reference pitches play through either the built-in speaker or the 3.5mm headphone output, so you can practise quietly when you need to.
In metronome mode the LCD display shows a virtual pendulum, with time signatures from 1 to 9 and a range of beat types. The tempo runs from 30 to 260 bpm, covering everything from slow ballads to fast passages. Switch to tuner mode and the MT-100 picks up notes through the internal microphone, the 6.3mm jack input, or the supplied clip pickup (also called a clip-on tuner). A virtual needle and LED indicators above the display show your tuning accuracy, with a stability of ±0.5 cent.
Five tuning modes are on board: chromatic, guitar, bass, ukulele and violin, so the MT-100 suits a wide spread of players. The tuning range spans A0 (27.5Hz) up to C8 (4186Hz), and the A4 reference frequency is adjustable from 430 to 450Hz for players who tune to a different pitch standard. Pitch mode plays your chosen tone through the speaker or headphones for tuning by ear. Measuring 98 x 66 x 16mm and weighing just 66g without batteries, it slips easily into a case or gig bag. This is a practical, all-in-one tool for any musician who wants tuning and timing in a single small package.
