The Chord DPP-8 is an 8-inch octagonal drum practice pad built for quiet, everyday stick work. The playing surface uses responsive rubber that gives you a natural rebound close to a real drum head, so you can build technique and speed without the volume of an acoustic kit. The octagon shape gives you flat edges as well as a central striking zone, which is handy for rim and edge practice.

Underneath, a protective foam base keeps the pad steady on a table or desk and stops it marking or sliding across the surface. It also cuts down the noise transferred through whatever you rest it on. For most players this table-top setup is enough, but the pad isn't limited to that. An M8 threaded mounting point on the underside lets you fix it to a cymbal stand or bracket, so you can set it at the right height alongside a kit or on its own.

At 207mm across and 27mm deep, and weighing 652g, it's small and light enough to pack into a stick bag or gig case. That makes it a sensible choice for warming up before a show, keeping your hands moving between rehearsals, or practising at home when a full kit would be too loud.
