Description

The Chord CT-28 is a compact clip tuner that attaches to the headstock of your instrument and picks up note vibrations directly. That means it works well in noisy rooms and on stage, where a microphone-based tuner can struggle. The reading shows up as a virtual needle on the backlit LCD, so you can see whether you're flat or sharp at a glance, even in low light.

You get a chromatic mode plus four instrument-specific modes covering guitar, bass, violin and ukulele. Everything runs from a single Power/Mode button, so you power up and switch modes without hunting through menus. The tuner head rotates, letting you set a viewing angle that suits how the clip sits on your headstock, whether you're right or left handed. Tuning stability is rated at ±0.5 cent, which is accurate enough for both practice and performance.

Power comes from one 3V CR2032 button cell, the same flat coin battery used in plenty of small electronics, so replacements are easy to find. At 73 x 48 x 28mm and 23g, it clips on and stays out of the way, and it's small enough to leave in a gig bag or case pocket. If you play guitar, bass or another stringed instrument and want a straightforward tuning aid you can rely on, the CT-28 does the job without fuss.
