Description

The CCB90 is our contemporary electric bass, built around a compact, contoured basswood body finished in metallic blue. The body is bolted to a maple neck using a deep cut joint, giving an extended neck pocket that helps the strings ring on and adds sustain. It is a comfortable instrument to hold and play, with a balanced shape that sits well whether you are standing or seated.

The neck carries an HPL rosewood fingerboard with 24 large frets and a 41mm nut width, over a scale length of 865mm. At the headstock you get four compact closed geared tuning machines, also called machine heads, which keep tuning stable and the profile neat. Two pickups do the work here: a split coil humbucker and a single coil with twinned polepieces. You control them with twin volumes for blending each pickup to taste, plus a single master tone. A chrome plated bridge holds the strings at the body end.

With the two volume controls you can dial in bright, punchy tones or a fuller, rounder sound, which makes the CCB90 suited to slap, finger and pick playing alike. It weighs 3.34kg, so it is easy to manage over longer sessions, and the overall dimensions are 315 x 1160 x 60mm. All the woods used come from sustainable sources. It is a sensible choice for players starting out or wanting a straightforward second bass.
