Description

The Chord CAB42 is a classically styled bass guitar that suits a wide range of playing. The solid basswood body has offset contoured styling for comfort, and gives the instrument a decent weight and good sustain. Two large single coil pickups, each fitted with twinned pole-pieces, sit under the strings and feed a control layout of two volume pots plus a shared master tone. That twin volume setup lets you blend the pickups to find the balance you want, whether you're after a rounded neck tone or a brighter bite from the bridge position.

The bolt-on maple neck carries an HPL rosewood fingerboard with 21 large frets and a 41mm nut width, on an 865mm scale length. The traditional headstock holds four clover leaf open-geared machine heads, sometimes called vintage-style tuners, which hold tuning well and suit the look of the guitar. Hardware includes a chrome plated bridge. In its 3-tone Sunburst gloss finish, the CAB42 covers everything from jazz to rock, so it works as a first bass or a reliable second instrument.
