Description

The Carroll is a traditional wall light with a ribbed glass shade held in a polished nickel solid brass frame. The fitting projects 212mm from the wall on a stepped column with vertical reeding detail, terminating in a circular backplate. A 3W LED G9 bulb sits inside the flared glass shade, casting warm 3000K light through the vertical ribbing.

With an IP44 rating, the Carroll is suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, hallways, bedrooms and living rooms where traditional detailing is preferred. The polished nickel finish reflects more light than matt alternatives and pairs with chrome taps, towel rails and mirror frames in bathrooms. The 261mm height and 139mm width suit installation at standard switch height (1200-1400mm from floor level) either side of a bathroom mirror or as single fittings in corridors.

The solid brass construction carries weight (approximately 800g) and feels substantial when fitted. The polished nickel finish is applied over brass and develops a patina over time in humid environments, which can be polished back if preferred. The ribbed glass shade diffuses the LED point source, preventing glare when viewed directly at eye level. The LED G9 bulb is included and rated at 3W, equivalent to approximately 25-30W incandescent output.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP44 rating makes it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, which covers areas outside the shower or bath enclosure. It is not rated for zone 0 or 1 (inside the shower or directly above a bath).

Is the bulb replaceable?

Yes. The fitting takes a standard G9 bulb up to 3W LED. The supplied LED G9 is replaceable with any equivalent G9 bulb available at Niori or elsewhere. Remove the glass shade by unscrewing the collar at the base to access the bulb.

What spacing is recommended for pairs?

When installing two Carroll wall lights either side of a bathroom mirror, a spacing of 600-900mm between centres works for most mirror widths between 500-800mm. The 212mm projection means each fitting sits well clear of the mirror edge.

Does the polished nickel tarnish?

Polished nickel develops a natural patina over time, particularly in humid bathroom environments. This can be polished back to original brightness using a soft cloth and metal polish if preferred, or left to develop character.
