Description

The Carisbrooke is a 2 light wall light built from die-cast aluminium finished in matt black, with two curved arms extending from a round backplate decorated with embossed radial detailing. Each arm carries an ivory-coloured candle tube and drip tray, and the arms are wrapped with hand-bound wire draping that creates a Gothic-style metalwork effect. The fitting takes two E14 candle bulbs (sold separately) at up to 60W each.

Designed for hallways, dining rooms and living rooms in period properties or interiors drawing on medieval and Tudor styling, the Carisbrooke suits both feature wall positions (above a console table, either side of a fireplace) and ambient applications where a pair are mounted symmetrically. The 135mm projection and 340mm width give the fitting a substantial presence without overwhelming narrower hallway widths of 1-1.2m. The black finish reads as charcoal-grey under warm incandescent or LED light, rather than pure black.

The hand-bound wire detailing around each arm is individually applied during manufacture, so minor variations in wire tension and spacing occur between fittings — this is characteristic of the range rather than a defect. The die-cast aluminium construction gives the fitting weight and rigidity, preventing the arms from flexing once mounted. The backplate mounts to a standard UK wall box using two fixings, and the cable entry point is positioned centrally behind the backplate.
