Description

This is our AV:Link Cat7 S/FTP RJ45 Ethernet patch lead in a 5m length. It's built with oxygen-free 26AWG copper twisted pair conductors, so you get a reliable connection for wired networking around the home or office. The lead supports data transfer rates of up to 10Gbps at bandwidths up to 600MHz, which is enough headroom for high-speed broadband, streaming, gaming and file transfers between devices.

The S/FTP shielding does the heavy lifting here. Each pair has its own aluminium foil screen, and there's an overall braided aluminium screen wrapped around the lot. That combination protects against both pair-to-pair crosstalk and alien crosstalk from nearby cables, which matters when you're running leads alongside other wiring or in a busy patch panel. The cable diameter measures 6.2mm, keeping it manageable to route and tidy away.

The RJ45 connectors are snag-free, so the locking tab won't catch or break when you're pulling the lead through cabinets or behind furniture. Shorter lengths in this range arrive in a sealed retail bag, while this 5m version gives you plenty of reach for connecting a router, switch, smart TV or games console. Known as an Ethernet lead in the UK and a patch cable or network cable elsewhere, it slots straight into any standard RJ45 port.
