Description

Our AV:Link Cat6 UTP patch lead gives you a straightforward way to connect wired network kit over a 1.0m run. It uses stranded copper conductors built from 7 strands of 0.18mm wire, rated at 25AWG, which keeps the cable flexible enough to route neatly behind desks and around equipment. The overall diameter is 6.0mm, so it sits well in cable tidies and tight spaces without becoming stiff or awkward.

The lead supports frequencies up to 250 MHz and handles high-speed data transmission up to 1,000Mbps, which is 1Gbps. That makes it a sensible match for gigabit networks at home or in the office. It is compatible with PCs, printers, servers, routers and switch boxes, and it stays fully backwards compatible with your existing network, so you can drop it into older setups without any trouble. Each end uses a standard RJ45 plug that fits the usual ports on your devices.

This is a snag-less design, meaning the moulded boot protects the locking clip on the RJ45 plug (also called an Ethernet connector in the US) so it will not catch as you pull the cable through a bundle. The construction is built for uniform impedance, low return loss and a higher signal-to-noise ratio, all of which help keep your connection steady. Shorter lengths like this 1.0m lead arrive in a sealed retail bag, ready to fit or store.
